Jurisdiction Strategy

Capital is mobile; consequences are not. Where an entity sits determines the law it answers to, the taxes it pays, the treaties it can use, and the political risk it silently absorbs. Jurisdiction is a design variable, not an afterthought.

The temptation is to optimise for a single number, usually tax. The cost of that narrowness shows up later as banking friction, reputational drag, or a regime change no spreadsheet priced. Durable structures optimise for acceptance: by banks, by regulators, by counterparties, and by the next generation who will have to live inside them.

This topic examines jurisdiction as a portfolio of legal and political exposures to be diversified, not gamed.
